【摘要】:ThistestmethodisfunctionallyequivalenttoTestMethodD3703,whichusesanozonedepletingsubstance,(1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane).TheuseofanozonedepletingsubstanceprecludesU.S.militarybasesfromutilizingTestMethodD3703.ThistestmethodandTestMethodD3703measurethesameperoxidespecies(primarilyhydroperoxides)inaviationfuels.Themagnitudeofthehydroperoxidenumberisanindicationofthequantityofoxidizingconstituentspresent.Deteriorationoffuelresultsintheformationofhydroperoxidesandotheroxygen-carryingcompounds.Thehydroperoxidenumbermeasuresthosecompoundsthatwilloxidizepotassiumiodide.Thedeterminationofthehydroperoxidenumberoffuelsissignificantbecauseoftheadverseeffectofhydroperoxidesuponcertainelastomersinthefuelsystems.1.1Thetestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthehydroperoxidecontentofaviationturbinefuels.Thetestmethodmayalsobeapplicabletothedeterminationofthehydroperoxidecontentofanywater-insoluble,organicfluid,particularlydieselfuels,gasolines,andkerosines.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,see6.3-6.5,AnnexA1,andAnnexA2.
